# 67. Employee Time Sheet Daily Report

[Employee Time Sheet Daily Report](https://autosoftware.company/employee_time_sheet_report.php) is the hours side of payroll, one line per employee per day worked, splitting each day into regular hours and overtime. Behind every line sits the day's clock events — in, breaks and out — which you can open without leaving the report. Use it to total a pay period before it goes to payroll, to see who is running into overtime, and to check a day's clock events when somebody queries their hours.

## How do I run the Employee Time Sheet Daily Report?

1. From the Home Screen, click Reports → Employee & Payroll Reports → Employee Time Sheet Daily Report.
2. Click the From : … To : … date box and pick the period. The box opens with today in both halves, so widen it before the report will show anything.
3. Pick a name in the employee list on the left to see one person, or leave it on ALL. Changing the name reloads the report on its own.
4. Click SEARCH to load it. SHOW ALL clears the employee filter and reloads on the same dates.
5. Click PRINT for a PDF copy or DOWNLOAD to export to a spreadsheet. Both appear only when the report has lines.

## How do I see the clock events behind a day's hours?

1. From the Home Screen, click Reports → Employee & Payroll Reports → Employee Time Sheet Daily Report, and run it for your date range.
2. Click the eye icon at the left of the day you want.
3. [Employee Clock In/Out History](https://autosoftware.company/clock-in-out-programming.php) opens, headed with the employee's name and the date. It lists the day's events in order — Work, Lunch Break, Rest Break, Clock-Out Temporarily and End Day — against the In Time each was recorded and the Total Hours that stretch of work came to. Breaks show a time but no hours, since a break is not worked time.
4. Under the table, Total Hours Worked adds the work stretches together, and Overtime Hours shows how much of that was over the limit.
5. Click the × at the top right to close it and return to the report.

## How do I work out regular and overtime hours for a day?

1. From the Home Screen, click Reports → Employee & Payroll Reports → Employee Time Sheet Daily Report, run it for your date range and pick one day.
2. Start with the total hours actually worked. The report does not show this as a column — click the eye icon and read Total Hours Worked in the popup, or add REGULAR HOURS and OVERTIME HOURS together. Example: 08-05-2026, clocked in at 06:41 AM and ended the day at 10:00 PM, 15.32 hours worked.
3. ARM compares that against the daily limit set for your store in Employee Taxation — eight hours on this store.
4. REGULAR HOURS is the smaller of the two: the hours worked, or the limit. Example: 15.32 is over eight, so regular hours are 8.00. On a short day it is simply the hours worked — 08-11-2026 came to 6.28 hours, so regular hours are 6.28 and there is no overtime.
5. OVERTIME HOURS is whatever is left above the limit. Example: 15.32 − 8.00 = 7.32. Where the day came in under the limit the figure is 0.00.
6. A day only just over the line still splits: 08-03-2026 came to 8.08 hours, which is 8.00 regular and 0.08 overtime.
7. Where your store works overtime out by the week instead, ARM does the same arithmetic against the weekly limit across the whole Sunday-to-Saturday week rather than day by day, which is why the range has to be a whole week for the figures to mean anything.

## How do I print a pay period for an employee to sign?

1. From the Home Screen, click Reports → Employee & Payroll Reports → Employee Time Sheet Daily Report.
2. Set the date range to the pay period and pick the employee, then click PRINT. The PDF opens in a new tab.
3. The printout is arranged differently from the screen. Each employee gets their own page, headed Employee TimeSheet Report with the date range under it and a strip giving the Employee Number and Employee Name.
4. The table runs day by day under Working Date, Regular Hours and Overtime Hours. Each day opens with its clock events — Event, In Time and Total Hours sharing the same three column positions — and closes with a yellow row carrying the date and that day's regular and overtime hours.
5. Green rows below the days give the totals for each Week, named by its Sunday-to-Saturday dates, and a grey Total Hours row adds the whole period. Example: 16.00 regular and 7.40 overtime for the week of 08-03, 6.28 and 0.00 for the week of 08-10, giving 22.28 and 7.40 for the period.
6. At the foot is the line *"I hereby acknowledge that my work hours stated above are correct and accurate."* with an Employee Signature and date line, so the page can be signed off as the record of hours.

## About this screen

If a red note appears under the filters saying "Please choose a weekly date range (Sunday to Saturday)", take it seriously. It shows when your store works overtime out by the week rather than by the day, and it means the range you have picked is not a whole week. Overtime is only correct on this report when the range runs Sunday through Saturday, because a part-week cannot tell ARM whether the weekly limit was passed. Where your store works overtime out by the day, the note never appears and any range is fine.

Each line shows the EMPLOYEE NAME, their EMPLOYEE NUMBER, the REGULAR HOURS and OVERTIME HOURS for that day, the WORK DATE itself, and any ADMIN NOTES left against it. An eye icon in the first column opens the day's clock events. The report does not [print](https://autosoftware.company/mpdf/employee_time_sheet_report_pdf_new.php) a total for the day — regular plus overtime gives it, and the same figure appears as Total Hours Worked in the clock events popup.

The row at the foot of the table is the totals row, though it does not look like one: it repeats the column headings and drops the two totals into the REGULAR HOURS and OVERTIME HOURS positions, so it reads as words with two numbers among them. Those two numbers are the regular and overtime hours added across every line. They add up the page you are looking at, not the whole report — where the list runs to several pages, paging forward changes them. The printed PDF covers the whole date range, so use it when you need a period total.

The employee list offers everyone on your employee master, including people no longer working for you, so it is possible to pick a name and get an empty report. The date box will not let you start earlier than the day your store's records begin. The REMOVE FROM FAVORITES switch beside the report title — ADD TO FAVORITES where you have not already done so — keeps a shortcut to the report under your favourites in the main Reports menu.
