# 103. Final Grease Monkey Royalty Report

[Final Grease Monkey Royalty Report](https://autosoftware.company/greasemonkey_royalty_report.php) is the monthly royalty worksheet for a Grease Monkey location. It starts from the month's gross receipts, takes off the items that are not subject to royalty, gives the car count for the month and works out the royalty fee, line by line, with the formula for each line shown beside it. Use it each month to see the royalty due to Grease Monkey and how it was reached.

## How do I work out the royalty from the report?

1. From the Home Screen, click Reports → Management & Marketing Reports → Final Grease Monkey Royalty Report, and choose the date.
2. Start with line 1, TOTAL MONTHLY GROSS RECEIPTS. Example: 05-01-2026 to 05-14-2026, $4,786.38.
3. Take off lines 2 to 7: sales taxes, state tire fees, state battery fees, smog certificates, state vehicle inspection certificates and brake/lamp certificates. Example: $178.35 of sales tax and $60.00 of inspection certificates; the rest are $0.00.
4. Line 8, GIFT CERTIFICATE SOLD, is labelled "info purposes only" but is also taken off, as the formula beside line 9 shows. Example: $0.00 this month.
5. Line 9, EQUALS TOTAL SALES SUBJECT TO ROYALTIES, is what is left: $4,786.38 − $178.35 − $60.00 = $4,548.03.
6. Line 10, CAR COUNT FOR THE MONTH, is the number of finalized invoices in the period. Example: 17.
7. Lines 11 and 12 both work the royalty from line 9: 5 % for periods before April 2024 and 6 % for periods from April 2024. Both lines always appear, whatever dates you choose; use the one that applies. Example: $4,548.03 × 5 % = $227.40 and $4,548.03 × 6 % = $272.88, so for May 2026 the royalty is $272.88.

## About this screen

The report opens with STORE NUMBER (the store's account number), STORE ADDRESS and PERIOD OF, the dates covered. Each line then shows its NUMBER, the FORMULA used, a DESCRIPTION and the AMOUNTS, taken from the month's finalized invoices. When the month has refunds, REFUND AMOUNTS and NET columns appear beside the amounts.

The printout is headed Final Grease Monkey Royalty Report and carries the same lines and amounts. It labels line 1 TOTAL WEEKLY GROSS RECEIPTS, although the figure is the month's.

If you sell gift certificates, check line 8 before you pay: the report takes gift certificates sold off the royalty base, and in a month with refunds the NET column puts them back. Confirm with your franchise agreement which treatment applies. The rates are the same for every store and cannot be changed from ARM's settings.
