# 94. PartsTech Labor Report

[PartsTech Labor Report](https://autosoftware.company/partsTech_labor_reports.php) lists the labor that came with parts ordered through PartsTech, one line per part ordered from an invoice. Each line has the labor task, the book time and PartsTech's note on what the time covers. It shows how much labor PartsTech suggested for the parts your shop ordered, and on which invoices. Use it to check the time quoted on a job against the book time, and to look up what a labor operation includes and excludes.

## How do I run the PartsTech Labor Report?

1. From the Home Screen, click Reports → Shop Expenses & Vendor Reports → PartsTech Labor Report.
2. The report opens on the store's whole PartsTech history, newest first. It has no date range.
3. To narrow it, type in Search and click SEARCH. It finds an exact invoice number, or a labor description, note or time that starts with what you type, for example Brake. SHOW ALL clears the search.
4. Click any column heading with arrows to sort by it.
5. Click [PRINT](https://autosoftware.company/mpdf/partech_labor_report_pdf.php) for a PDF copy or DOWNLOAD to export to a spreadsheet.

## How do I see the part that goes with a labor line?

1. From the Home Screen, click Reports → Shop Expenses & Vendor Reports → PartsTech Labor Report.
2. Find the line and click the eye icon at its left. Example: invoice 335222, *Spark Plugs R&R, All models*, 1.60 hours.
3. The PartsTech Orders Report opens showing that one part: its purchase date, supplier, part name and number, quantity, cost and retail price. Example: 8 Autolite spark plugs, cost $29.52. Its filter boxes look empty even though it is showing one part; click SHOW ALL there to see every order.

## About this screen

Total: above the table counts the lines. Each line shows the INVOICE NO. the part was ordered for, the LABOR DESCRIPTION (the labor operation, such as *Spark Plugs R&R, All models*), the LABOR TIME and the LABOR NOTES. The notes are PartsTech's standard wording on what the operation includes and what it does not, for example *Includes: The removal of component and all necessary components for access. Does not include: System diagnosis, testing, or a vehicle road test.* There are no money columns and no totals.

LABOR TIME is in hours and hundredths of an hour, not hours and minutes. 1.60 is one hour and 36 minutes, not one hour sixty; 0.30 is 18 minutes.

Many lines show an invoice number with no description, 0.00 time and no notes. Those are parts that were ordered without any labor attached. The same invoice appears once for every part ordered on it, so an invoice with five parts and one labor operation shows one full line and four empty ones. Total: therefore counts parts ordered, not labor operations.

The printout is headed Partech Labor Report and lists the same four columns as the screen.

To see the parts ordered through PartsTech with their costs, run PartsTech Orders Report.
