# 53. Currency

[Currency](https://autosoftware.company/currency_form.php) controls how money is written throughout ARM — the symbol, where it sits, and how numbers are punctuated. It is a formatting setting, not an exchange rate: changing it restyles how existing figures are displayed but does not convert any amounts. Set it once when the shop is being configured.

## How do I set how money is displayed?

1. From the Home Screen, click System Setup Tools → Currency.
2. Enter the Name of the currency, which is required, and its Code, which is also required — for example USD.
3. Enter Symbol Left if the symbol goes before the amount, or Symbol Right if it goes after.
4. Enter the Decimal Point character and the Thousand Point character. Both are required — for example a full stop and a comma.
5. Enter the Decimal Places to show, normally 2. This is required.
6. Click Save.
