# 27. ValorPay Terminal Setup

[ValorPay Terminal Setup](https://autosoftware.company/valor_terminal_setup.php) registers the card machines you take payment on. A terminal is either a Physical Device, meaning a countertop card machine, or Virtual — Pay by Link, which texts or emails the customer a payment link from the invoice. The credentials all come from your Valor portal, not from ARM. The list shows each terminal's Terminal Name, Type, App ID, EPI (API Number) and which is the Default Refund terminal.

## How do I add a card terminal?

1. From the Home Screen, click System Setup Tools → ValorPay Terminal Setup.
2. Click Add New.
3. Choose the type: Physical Device for a countertop machine, or Virtual — Pay by Link to send the customer a payment link.
4. Enter a Terminal Name that identifies where it is, such as Front Desk or Bay 1. This is required.
5. From your Valor portal, copy in the App ID, the app key, and the EPI device profile identifier. All three are required. Add the Channel ID if Valor gave you one.
6. Tick the default refund option if refunds should go through this terminal.
7. Set the environment to Production for live payments — Staging (beta) only processes test transactions.
8. Click Save.
